Pressies from mum

I got a pressie from mum and dad today. Love getting pressies of course but today was extra extra great as I was really tired and got so cheered.
I was really touched by mums card where she tells us about the onesie for Ollie, the CD with photos for us and a toy for her 'friend' Frida. (She and Frida got to be really close when they were here. Very sweet!)
Thank you mum - loved it. You know how much I love Polarn and Pyret clothes. He will be very cute I am sure.

First swim

On Sunday we went to Claire and Graeme's place for lunch and a swim. O had his first ever swim. He was not too impressed, water was only 24 degrees and he was very freezing! We will try again soon....

Glasshouse

After our lunch went to a few shops to have a look. Spent some time in Opus which is a great shop for gifts of all kinds. Did not get any gifts today. Just one for the house.... New scented candle from Glasshouse! This is one I always have in the house. Fig and Guava. So lovely!

I heard a noise...

Babies are funny. And they have no shame. Hehe.
O is sitting in his bouncer in his PJ and we're having a chat. He's smiling, talking to me and is very cute. Even though it's early on a Sat morn he has a lot of energy. (Of course!) All of a sudden I hear this noise. Is it thunder? Did someone move something? What is that noise? Oh yes, it's my son doing a huge number 2. He seems very proud now. Boys... :)

Inspired

I am not a runner anymore. I want to be. I miss it.

Have the all clear from the obstetrician now so could start... Clearly the hour to hour and a half I walk each day (with dog and pram) is not enough to shed extra baby weight and get fit again.

Soooo I bought the new issue of Runner's World - for inspiration. Used to run a lot and feels so great! Also - can't wait to fit into my old jeans again....

Busy Friday

Today we did lots in a short space of time. Within 2 h we managed to go to the post office and pick up a parcel with some cute wall decorations I bought for Oliver. We then went to the nail place for new nails. Vain yes - feels good - yes... Then we bought Easter decorations and a new door stop for Oliver's room. Then to the pharmacy for some baby creams etc - then home. And the reason this got done was the O was sleeping for most of it. Great!

I am also very proud that O is a good gym goer and is managing to box, touch and pull his toys in the gym. He is a strong little man. :)

Sunday bbq

Sunday bbq at Frank and Caroline's. The food was very Jamie Oliver with food on cutting boards etc. Lovely! Yummy food and talks about babies and life. (Let me rephrase that - the women spoke about life and babies. The men spoke about cricket and investments... ) :)

The best apple juice (oh, apart from frershly squeezed that is) is from nudie and is called 'nothing but 20 apples. So good!

We managed to get in a long walk with the dogs (we are dog sitting), a bacon and egg breakkie and then I went to Woolies for groceries - all of this before the rain came pounding down! Now we're all snuggled up and cosy inside. Nice !

Reading and singing

We read a lot for O. And we sing. Not very well. Singing that is. But we do sing everyday. Ok, J is better at it than I but let's face it - we're no Maria Callas or Pavarottis.
Anyway, we have become parents and got stuck in. I, who NEVER sing is now a keen singer of all sorts of weird children songs that I have not sung for 30 odd years. (Were they all high when they wrote the songs? Some lyrics are really out there!) And believe it or not I remember all the lyrics as soon as I hear the melody. Amazing!
We received this book fro Kent and Gunilla (my Auntie and Uncle). Love it!
This book is great as it comes with a little speaker that gives you the melody and you get all the lyrics and then you just sing away. Easy as Sunday morning....

SEED

Seed is one of my favorite shops for baby clothes. Got O 2 new things today, one long sleeved which is bigger so he can have it in a few months in autumn and winter, and one t-shirt which will fit very soon. He is growing very quickly!

Furry friend !

After a day with Mothers Group and lots of house faffing (washed 6 machines, cleaned dog, watered garden etc) - I had a good pat and hang out with Frida. She is slightly neglected since O arrived, so she needs a cuddle here and there!! She is our first fur child after all....

Cafe Svensson

Today I did something I have not managed to do in the circa ten years I have been here....
The Swedish Church has a cafe that is called Cafe Svensson. On Tuesdays the mothers group gets together (only in true swedish form it is not called the mothers group but 'parent' group. Equality between the sexes is important! And yes, there were fathers there with their kids...! )
Anyway - I spoke to other mums, had tea and ate THE SEMLA. I had forgotten it is Semla-time in Sweden right now and could nearly not contain my excitement when I saw they sell them... They were made fresh as well and were reeeallly good. Oh I have missed scoffing down a good semla. Enjoyed it !

Happy baby

Happy baby today.. Smiles all around. Makes me forget all about how sleep deprived and tired I am - all worth it!

Been to my obstetrician today - all good and I will not have to come back. Eh, unless we have another baby hehe!

Then we had coffee with Michelle , the midwife that helped us so much when O was born and have since kind of become a friend. Her daughter from the UK is in town so we all caught up. Nice!
