Old Young People

At the doctors doing a test. Sitting in the waiting room and a lady walks in. With a cane. She is not young ladies and gents... She hobbles over and sits down. Her posture and all about her makes you think; she is very frail and old... Then something makes me change my mind - from her purse she brings out a new Mac book air and starts using it.... I am gob smacked!! Then her phone goes (sms) and she takes out an iphone 4 from her coat...
Modern life hey!
Very funny... Maybe this is what keeps her younger? Lovely to see.

Olympics and other things on weekend...

The weekend went very quickly this time and in short this happened:
1. Cried myself through the opening of the Olympics. Very moving
2. Went for Christmas in July at Kate and Ross's. As always at Ross's house the food was excellent and lots of fun to see new babies and catch up with Graham and Claire as well.
3. Lunch with David and Bianca at new (to us) italian place here near us.
4. Made brownies, slept and read lots

More rain and no sleep

I am not sleeping properly and for the last 2 days I have been walking around like a zombie. I think they do this to you on purpose so that you are prepared for the fact that you will never sleep again... :)
This morning I took Frida for a very wet but nice walk in the park. Having a dog is just so much fun, I love seeing her run around with the tail going and having so much fun....

The park looks a bit sad today.... but we had lots of fun...

Shopping

Have started the process of shopping for baby stuff and love some of the things I have found. (Note this is only the beginning so there is lots more to get....) Since we do not know what we are having I had to think of the colors. Ok i can do red on a boy of course but I am not so keen on pink for a boy. If it is a girl I am happy with blue and green etc ... So to cover myself I have bought lots of things in neutral colors. Mainly I have so far got onesies and some long sleeveed tops, but as i said this is just the beginning..... Love Seed for baby clothes. Nice style ( and no fills!!) and good quality.
It is really starting to feel real now....

Back on track

I am back on track... After a few weeks of minor setbacks like the pinches in my sciatic nerve and also some nausea and general feeling not so great I am now feeling a bit better and will be blogging more going forward.
Today we celebrated new job for J and also generally that we needed a day out after all the unpackig of boxes and visiting baby stores... We went for lunch at Rockpool Bar & Grill and it was really nice. Nice with a treat ( my palate has changed - or is is just that i can't eat as much as I used to pre bump? ) and food and service was excellent. We are so coming back soon. We are not only in the mood for good food (we always are), we also feel the urge to go out lots before November - think we are going to be busy for the last months of thsi year and first months of next........

Oh yes...

After seeing the physio this week and doing all my exercises properly I have hugely improved. I can now walk the dog, dress myself, walk up the stairs and all the other things you have to do very day – yeeeesss I love it! I have been really tired and not in a good mood with all this pain going on.....

It was the sciatic nerve that was playing up due to change of gravity (due to belly) in combo with old hamstring injury flaring up. I feel so much better now and almost back to normal actually. I am not sleeping well though as that is the worst for it but I am hoping this improves from now on. Life is so much better pain free, I have been a really grumpy bear lately......

Now planning a weekend of shopping for baby stuff.... exciting!!!

The book kitchen

Had lunch with Mia & Luke and David & Bianca today at The Book Kitchen in Surry Hills. It is a cafe by day and a restaurant by night and it is really lovely and cute + has yummy food.  They were all so happy to see us (and we to see them) and we had a great time together, catching up on M & L's adventures on their 4 months honey moon and D & B's trevels and general life. I have missed them so much!!!! Oh it is just sooooo nice to be back 'home' and see all our friends and hear all their news and hang out again. I feel so lucky and so happy that we are here again....
Now Jon is cooking up a storm with NY steaks and veggies for dinner. Life is good!!! (even with a dicky hamstring... )
xx Have a great weekend all....

Hamstring issues

My hamstring has flared up again. It is obviously related to my current back pains and heaviness and the hormone that makes my bones all flexible.  It is very painful and is currently trying to find a physio that can see me. Ahhhh...
