Cricket and Antilop

Spent a few hours this arvo at Rushcutters Bay and the Reg Bartley Oval where J's cricket team played today. We all came down to watch the blokes, family and friends. J was in charge of the bbq for the lads. :) Brilliant day, not too hot, not too cold, good food and friends. Really lovely day. Unfortunately I did not take any photos!!! I was busy with O and then time just passed quickly... Anyway, great day at Rushutters and good so see everyone and Mia looked great being 6 months preggers!

Now over to the Antilop. After careful consideration I have purchased a high chair for Oliver. It is called Antilop and is from Ikea. It is ugly. I know this and you can mock me all you want - I am aware of how it looks. I am a person who in the past would go through great effort to ind what is cute/looks good with the house etc rather than what is practical. I now (with trepidation) realise that I have gone for the practical choice. Life certainly has changed...

High Chairs;

I looked at all sorts of high chairs, I initially wanted one that has no legs and that you hang (and secure) at the table directly. Reason I did not get it : not sure the stone on kitchen island can take it as he gets older and heavier and not keen to replace stone top....

I looked at a range of wooden ones from for example Stokke - beautiful all of them. Reason for not getting any of them - harder to clean, are heavy and can not be dismantled easily and taken with us at weekends etc.

Basically after speaking to people who first got a 'beautiful' chair and then bought a new plastic one for ease - I decided to (for once) be practical. I got the plastic one.

Motivation; easy to dismantle and take with you when away for weekends etc, easy to clean (can even put chair and baby in shower if really messy!), light to carry and cheap so if we don't need it or want to get a wooden chair later - we can just chuck it! We have a winner!!!
